Bronzeville Energy Community of the Future

The City of Chicago began developing a Resilience Strategy for a more resilient, connected Chicago in participation with the Rockefeller Foundation’s 100 Resilient Cities Program (100RC). This work, conducted under the leadership of the Mayor’s Office, required assessing the key resilience challenges faced by Chicago’s neighborhoods. To more effectively execute this work, the City formed partnerships with AECOM, ComEd, and other organizations already working to advance sustainability and resilience goals throughout the city. Such partnerships included collaboration with AECOM, who was selected by the Rockefeller Foundation 100RC program to serve as the primary consultant and strategy partner for the City in developing its Resilience Strategy. AECOM simultaneously supported ComEd, as that utility implementing its innovative Community of the Future (COF) program in Chicago’s historic Bronzeville neighborhood.
